About the Event
The AAA would like to invite its members to a book launch of the archaeologist Richard Hodges most recent publication, Butrint at the Crossroads of the Mediterranean, published by Bloomsbury.
‘Focusing on the archaeology and history of Butrint in southern Albania, this book begins by looking at its foundation in the Bronze Age period through to the contemporary era, where it is now a popular tourist destination. Richard Hodges, who has excavated at the site for over thirty years and is a trustee of the Butrint Management Foundation, looks at the Mediterranean seaport and its changing landscape over the course of five thousand years.’
The launch will be held at 6.30pm UK time on Thursday 29 January 2026 at the Albanian Embassy, 33 St George's Drive, London SW1V 4DG. The talk will be followed by a drinks reception.
