Music review - Adam Yamey enjoys two concerts at St Stephens Church, London, given by the London City Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Olsi Qinami: a concert of “Symphonic Dances” in June and “The Great Outdoors” in October.

 

Earthquake in Albania - Carolyn Perry reports from Durrës on an earthquake registering 5.8 on the Richter scale that damaged hundreds of buildings in and around Durrës and Tirana.

 

Two Pairs of Wheels out from Durrës and Back - John Shirley cycles from Durrës to Vlorë, Borsh, Sarandë and Gjirokastër - and then back to Durrës.

 

The Pulati Confederation - Michael Gunn explains that the Pulati Confederation of Gheg Albanian clans had its roots in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pulat founded in 305 CE.

An Albanian in India - Adam Yamey visits Diu in Gujerat and finds a monument to Khadjar Safar, an Ottoman general killed in action in 1546. Adam thinks that Khadjar Safar was likely to have been of Albanian origin.
